Mrs. Mary Jackson, nee, Carey, died at her home three miles east of Buford, Feb 22, 1910, aged 28 years and 3 days, and was laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery on Feb 24. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Smith.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and was a faithful Christian to the end of her life. She was a victim of consumption and for the past year was most of the time confined to her home. She bore her afflictions with great patience and was always bright and cheerful, always having a kind word and smile for everyone she met. She had told her husband for the last four years that if she was ready to go. She is greatly missed by all her relatives and friends, for she was loved by all who knew her.
Mrs. Jackson leaves a husband, two children, a mother, and two brothers, besides other relatives to mourn her death. But grieve not as others that have no hope, for you Mary is only sleeping the blessed sleep of the dead, only a sleep in Jesus to be awakened in the morning of the resurrection and may we emulate her example in this life that will better prepare us to meet, never to part again. May the blessings of the Lord ever attend the bereaved ones and may they all be re-united never to part any more.
