Died Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Son of Walter Arthur & Treacy Louzella Dutton Pitchford.

Leo A. Pitchford, the mayor of Salesville and a retired teacher, died at Little Rock May 9. Mr. Picthford, 64, was a lifetime resident of this area.
Mr. Pitchford was born March 23, 1921 in Broken Arrow, OK. He was active in local government and civic organizations. Mr. Pitchford served on Baxter County Election Commission, The County Planning Commission, County Tax Equilzaton Board, was a member of the Cattlemen's Association, Chairman of Galatia Cemetery Association, honorary FFA member, and he served on the State Municipal League Rules Committee.
A retired teacher from Mt. Home School District, Mr. Pitchford was a member of various teachers's organizations. He was an honorary chapter farmer of the FFA, and he was the recipient of the award for outstanding service to the Future Farmers of America.
Mr. Pitchford received a Community Service Award in 1980 and in 1977 he was presented the Mt. Home Farm Cooperative Program Award for Advancement of Agriculture. He was also a member of the Baxter County Regional Hospital Board, The Norfork Masonic Lodge and was deacon of the Norfork Baptist Church. He had served in the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louzella Pitchford, and a sister Claribel Knight. He is survived by his wife, Mauzee Pitchford, of the home. Additional survivors are one son, Roger Pitchford of Stillwater, OK; two brothers, Donald Pitchford of Longview, Texas and Bill Pitchford of Helena; two sisters, Mrs. Larnine Reeves of Mt. Home and Mary Lee Reeves of Taylor, Texas; a nephew, Arnold Knight of Mt. Home; and three grandchildren.
Services were May 11, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Forrest Bynum and Reverend John McCormick officiated. Interment was at the Galatia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Drum, Dave Killian, Bobby Hulse, James Whitehead, Allen Walton, and Reverend Verne Park.
