HEAGERTY, Mahaley Caroline TURNER - Mrs. J.W. Heagerty, a native daughter of Benton county, died at the family home six miles southwest of Bentonville on Friday, September 25th, 1925 at the age of 63 years. She was born near Springtown and spent her entire life in Benton county. Mahaley Caroline Turner was united in marriage to John William Heagerty on February 20th, 1881. To this union were born four children, all girls. Two are now dead - Nannie, the oldest, died at the age of four years; Pearl, the youngest, died January 30th, 1920, aged 23 years. She is survived by her husband, William Heagerty, two daughters, Minnie Heagerty and Mrs. Nora Ritter; two grandchildren, Maurice and Neva Ritter; one sister, Mrs. Mary Parks; two half-brothers, Jack and Philo Buck. There are many other relatives and friends left to miss her. Over thirty years ago she made public profession of her faith in Christ and united with the M.E. Church. Her Christian life has been true and steadfast. But it has been her home life and mother love that will always be remembered. Seven years ago last January she was afflicted by a severe stroke of paralysis, from the effects of which she never recovered. Three months ago her last illness began. She bore this as best she could. Friday at 4:10 p.m. the all-wise and loving Father of the Universe saw fit to grant her request and took her home where there is no suffering or sorrow. Her plans had all been made by herself and have been carried out as she requested. She asked for a simple burial service.
