Services for Wiley E. Lackey of Midway will be at 2PM Saturday at Old Galatia Church of Norfork with the Rev. Gale Wooten officiating. A Military graveside servcie will be by North Central Arkansas Veterans Council with Ozark Veterans of Foreign Post 3246 as honor guard. Mr. Lackey died Wednesday (Feb 10, 1999) at his residence. He was 79.
Mr. Lackey was born Oct 5, 1919, at Norfork, a son of John William and Cora Alice Dickerson Lackey. He served in the US Army Air Corps in World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Lackey married Beverly Mitchell Aug 3, 1975, at Mt. Home. He was a maintenance worker for the US Army Corps of Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Mt. Home; a son, Ronnie Schutkesting, daughter, Vickey Hodges, brother, Gordon Lackey, and granddaughter, Nicole Renee Watson, all of Mt. Home; two sisters, Arlein Medley of Midway and Maxine Hickman of Garfield, KS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Jay Lackey.
Visitation will be from 9AM-9PM today with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM. Burial will be at Galatia Cametery in Norfork. Pallbearers include Mark King, David King, Johnny King, Willie Medley, Gene Adams, and Troy Lackey. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Gregory, Isaac Marler, Gene Alexander and Gale Sweatnam.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
