Gare E. Acklin, 23, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.
He was born Aug 9, 1979, in Calico Rock, AR, to Gary T. and Carol Kendricks Acklin.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandmother.
He was born and raised in Arkansas, and attended high school there. Mr. Acklin was employed as an ironworker in Arkansas, but had been doing woodcutting since moving to Missouri.
He had attended the Pentecostal Church. Gary had established his own relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he liked being outdoors, where some of his favorite activities included hunting and fishing, and especially playing baseball. His family was very inmortant to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
Gary was a loving son, brother, uncle and grandson, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his father, Gary Acklin of Calico Rock, AR; his mother Carol Acklin of Olpe, KS; two brothers, James Acklin of Mt. View, AR, and Tracy Kendricks of Wichita, KS; a sister, Angela Brown of Olpe, KS; his paternal grandfather, Griffin Acklin of Yates Center, KS and two nieces.
Services for Gary E. Acklin will be held at 11AM Friday, March 14, 2003, in Holman-Howe Chapel with the Rev. Bob Lormins officiating.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1PM Saturday, March 15, in the Galatia Cemetery near Norfork, AR, under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30PM Thursday at the funeral home.
