John Virgil Guthrie, 83, San Gabriel, Calif., former resident of the area, died June 26 at San Gabriel. Born Sept. 26, 1893, at Strickler, he was the son of Joseph and Sarah Ann Woods Guthrie, a member of the Christian Church and a retired farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond D. Guthrie, East Irvine, Calif., and C. Dennis Guthrie, Rolling Heights, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.

Graveside funeral services for John Virgil Guthrie, 83, San Gabriel, Calif., former resident of the area who died June 26, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fall Creek Cemetery, Strickler, south of Prairie Grove. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
