October 8, 1880 - March 8, 1959

James B. Brown, aged 78, of Camden, Route 1, died in a local hospital at 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Brown was born in Grant County near Pine Bluff on October 8, 1880. He has lived in Ouachita County for 50 years where he has been a farmer and a timberman. He was a member of the Buena Vista Methodist Church. He was married to Amy Wright on April 4, 1920. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Henson of Camden; three sisters, Miss Nettie Brown of Camden, Mrs. Edna Bishop of Panama City, Florida and Mrs. Winnie Yarbrough of Natchitoches, Louisiana; a brother, Lee Brown of Camden; and four grandchildren, Jimmy Henson of the Air Force stationed at Lackland Field, San Antonio, Texas, Louise, Jerry and Betty Henson all of Camden. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Buena Vista Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gib Williams and Rev. Winston Hudnall. Burial will be in the Buena Vista cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Casket bearers are, L. E. Whitten, Milas Reynolds, John Curtis, J. F. O'Dell, Junius Landers, and Earl McGaughey. The body will be taken to the home of his daughter near Buena Vista this afternoon to remain until service time. (Camden News - March 9, 1959)
