Richard James Gallegos, 23, of Calico Rock died Monday, Oct 20, 2008, in Calico Rock.
Born March 9, 1985, in Calico Rock, he was the son of Richard and Jane Witeaker Gallegos. He was a 2004 graduate of Calico Rock High School, He was a member of Calico Rock Future Farmers of America Alumni Cattle Showing Team. He was employed at Baxter Healthcare in Mt. Home.
Survivors include his parents of Calico Rock; a brother, Phillip Anthony Gallegos of Calico Rock; his grandparents, E.C, and Nettie Whiteaker and Margie Ann Wauqua Hutchinson, all of Calico Rock; four uncles, Ronnie Whiteaker of Calico Rock, Jose Rafel Vazquez of Midway, Hector Lewis Vazquez of Jordan and Robert Gallegos of Fayetteville; 12 cousins Mike Whiteaker, Judy Whiteaker, Robert Parker, Levi Parker, Heather Parker, Samuel Jennings, Joe Luis Gallegos, Emma Whiteaker, Autumn Whiteaker, Brandon Vazquez, Amanda Vazquez, and Cory Vazquez.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, Nina Aylene Gallegos.
The funeral will be at 2PM Thursday at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Donnie Speak and Leon Morehead officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Miller, Acy Beebe, Brian Sanders, Jeffery Watts, Matt Sanders, Jeremy Powell, Travis Southard, Casey Sanders, Cody Cartwright and Craig Estes.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim Cunningham, Mark Greene, members of the senior class of 2004 and member of the Calico Rock FFA Show Team.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM tonight.
