Pinkney Reeves Whitlow (b. 08 Feb 1827, near Scottstown, Allen Co. KY; d. 25 Feb 1911, Lawrence Co., AR); son of John William and Juliett Cowden Whitlow. Married Elizabeth "Betsy" Hughes (ca. 1853) daughter of Meredith and Nancy Hunt Hughes in Allen Co., KY. Widowed soon after the birth of their first child Valentine. P.R. married Susan Miranda Benton 06 Nov 1856 at Mrs. Benton's in McLean Co., KY. The family moved to Lawrence County between 1860 and 1862, when P.R. served in Co. A., 15th Reg., Missouri Cavalry under Colonel Timothy Reeves.
Susan M. Benton Reeves(b. 09 Sep 1833; d. 05 Aug 1897); daughter of Erasmus and Elizabeth Howard Benton of Ohio and McLean County, Kentucky; wife of Pinkney Reeves Whitlow (marr. 06 Nov 1856 at Mrs. Benton's in McLean Co., KY)
