Evander Tate Baker, 72, of Route 3, Mt. Home, died Wednesday, Nov 24, at a Calico Rock hospital. He was a retire minister and carpenter, and a resident of the Salesville community, south of Mt. Home.
Funeral services were held at 10AM Friday at the Norfork Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Wiles, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Norfork Cemetery with the McClure Service in charge of arrangements.
The son of John Thadius Baker and Willie Belle Ethridge Baker, Mr. Baker was born Feb 21, 1893, at Norfork. He was a lifetime resident of Baxter County and a minister of the Baptist Church. Mr. Baker was a veteran, serving in the US Navy in World War I.
Survivors include two brothers, James R. Baker of Oklahoma City, OK and Wallace A. Baker of Santa Paula, CA, and several nephews.
Pallbearers were Ed Simpson, E.E. Farrier, Gene Fields, Ross Alexander, Austin Payne, and J.B. Clark.
