Killed in action at Hua Nghia by small arms fire.
PFC Thomas H. Bailey, 20, of Rt. 3, Stephens, was killed May 6 in Vietnam. He was a native of Columbia County. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bailey, Rt. 3, Stephens; a brother, Donald Bailey of the home, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Walter Young of El Dorado. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Magnolia Highway, with the Rev. Bruce Murphy officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. John Hargett and the Rev. J. D. Nottgrass. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. (El Dorado Times - May 14, 1968)
