Charles O. Butler, Sr., 90, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday May 28, 2017 in Fort Smith.

He was a retired tool and die maker for Trane Industries, a member of Temple Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Butler, one daughter Cathleen Cox, one son, Charles Odis Butler, Jr. and two grandsons, Gregory Stephen Butler and Shannon Ray Nelke.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Nelke of Fort Smith and Janet Lively and her husband Danny of Fort Smith; one son, Steve Butler of Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Vera Trisler of Paris, AR; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Blair Lively, Spencer Cox, Christopher and Peyton Lipham, Jonathan Bates and Grant Butler.

Doris Jean Stephens Butler, 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday March 8, 2012 in a local hospital.

She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Odis Butler Jr. and one grandson, Gregory Stephen Butler.

Funeral services are 10:00 AM Monday March 12, 2012 in Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Charles Odis Butler, Sr.; three daughters Donna Nelke and Janet Lively both of Fort Smith and Cathleen Cox of Scranton, Arkansas; and one son, Steve Butler of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Thomas of Poteau, OK and Betty Garrett of Spiro, OK.; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Nelke, Blair and Danny Lively, Spencer Cox, Christopher Lipham, Jonathan Bates, Grant Butler and Tyler Creed.
