Melva O. Melton, 96 of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. She was born October 30, 1918, to Ray and Ola Crownover Owen in Holly Springs, AR.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Dorado, where she attended the Ruth-Grace Sunday School Class, the Primetimers, and was in the Primetimers Choir. Melva was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death, are her parents; husband, Hugh Leonard Melton; brother, Phil Owen; and sister, Margie Ola Hanna.

Survivors include her son, Hugh A. “Tippy” Melton (Maryann); two daughters, Nancy Rae Kinard (Larry), Joanna Melton; sister, Mary Jo Crosley (George, Jr.) all of El Dorado; eight grandchildren, Kathy Stanley (Mark), Tim Kinard (Erin), Jenny Stokes, John Sevier (Rae), James Sevier, Robert Sevier (Callen), Tiffany Hurley, Shane Melton (Kasey); and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Young’s Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Private interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Grandsons and great grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
