Ms. Mary Ruth Blaylock of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 24 days. She was the daught of the late Lowery and Vida (Wilson) Overstreet. Ms. Blaylock was a 1943 graduate of Alma High School, in Alma, Arkansas.ptist Church of Fort Smith; a salesperson for Buster Brown Department store and a manager of Day and Nite Cleaners in La Villa Shopping Center. Prior to her death, Mr. Blaylock became a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
Ms. Blaylock was preceded in death by her parents; her living huband: Mabrey Jennings Blaylock, her brothers: Basil Overstreet, Loyd Overstreet, L.D. Overstreet, and Jearld Roy Overstreet; her sisters: Georgia L. Greismeyer, and Bertha Mae Cooper.
She is survived by her children: Michael J. Blaylock and his wife: Janet, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Patrick A. Blaylock and his wife: Karen, of Conway, Arkansas; two sisters: Virginia Boley and her husband: Cliff, of Arlington, Texas; a brother: Darrell Overstreet and his wife: Polly, of Memphis, Tennessee; her grandchidlren: Matthew Blaylock and his wife: Shelly, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Katie Marsico and her husband: Travis, of Starkville, Mississippi, Grant Blaylock, Blake Blaylock and Reid Blaylock, all of Conway, Arkansas; four precious great-grandchildren: Madison, Molly, Hannah and Janson; three step-daughters: Midlred Ayo, Carolyn Payne and her husband Carroll, Jack and Marylynn Blaylcock; and her her faithful dog: Fritz.
Graveside service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Funeral service was held on Monday, December 29, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Matthew, Grant, Blake and Reid Blaylock; and Travis Marscio.
Honorary pallbearers were the members of her Sunday School Class.
