Pat Birkett, 81, of Fort Smith died Friday, April 14, 2000, in Fort Smith.

She was a retired executive secretary for the Whirlpool Corporation, served 35 years as a church organist, was a charter member of the Fort Smith chapter of the Professional Secretaries Internationals, past dean of the American Guild of Organists, past officer of the board of the Fort Smith Historical Society, member of the Oklahoma Historical Society and member of South Side Baptist Church.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her son, David of Mukilteo, Wash.; one brother, Dr. Frank W. Patterson of San Angelo, Texas; three step-grandsons; and seven step-great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Lane, Dr. Tom Raymond, Dr. Art Martin, Jim Allen and Hugh Johnson.
