Linda Gayle Brown English was born September 20, 1956 in Prescott, Arkansas to Luther and Hazel Arnold Brown. She entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2016 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, after a brief illness, in the presence of her loved ones.
Linda was a 1974 graduate of Prescott High School. She attended Henderson State University obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, teaching English for several years. She returned to HSU and completed a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Her goal was to complete a Doctorate in Counselor Education, which was accomplished in 1996 when Linda received her PhD in Counselor Education. She returned to her beloved Alma Mater HSU where she was a Professor of Counselor Education until her death.
Although there are no immediate family survivors, Linda often referred to two long time close friends, Amy Moore Discher of Mesa, AZ and Kathy Dougan Wells as her family. She also leaves to cherish her memory her church family, co-workers, students and numerous other friends.
A Rosary and Visitation will be held at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 S. Main Hope, AR on June 8, 2016 at 6:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church 315 South Walker St. in Hope, on June 9, 2016 at 10:00am. Interment will be at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Luther and Hazel Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
There will be a luncheon after the burial at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.
