BETHELL was the surname of his stepfather
Edgar E. Bethell, 85, of Fort Smith died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a retired attorney after practicing for 50 years, a member of the First United Methodist Church, an Army veteran and a 33rd degree Mason. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith prior to the service. He is survived by his wife, Rose; two daughters, Barbara Hill of Fort Smith and Delia Bethell and husband Gene Gandy of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Bruce Bethell and wife Suzanne of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Leslie Bethell and Amanda Lawrence; and a great-grandchild, Eleanora Lawrence.

Rose Custer Hollis Bethell, 94, of Fort Smith died August 21, 2014 in Fort Smith.
She was born July 27, 1920 in Pine Bluff, AR.
She was involved in Community Development and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Delia Rose Bethell and her husband Gene Gandy of West Sacramento, CA and Barbara Bethell of Fort Smith; one son, Bruce Hollis Bethell and wife Suzanne of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Amanda Bethell Lawrence and Reverend Leslie Hollis Bethell Roper; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar E. Bethell.
Memorial service will be Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church. Services and Private Burial will be under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the First United Methodist Church Altar Guild.
