Marcella Joan Beshears, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas was held by her family as she peacefully passed away on June 14th, 2022.
Joan was a retired Registered Nurse with over forty years of service and a psychiatric clinical instructor at University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. She was a lifelong learner and continually sought knowledge. As part of her ministry, she learned to speak Vietnamese so that she could reach out and minister to the Vietnamese community.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Steven E. Beshears, her parents Herman and Erma Poole, her sisters, Betty Ross and Sue Poole and, most recently, her brother Charles Poole, all of whom she loved dearly.
Joan was survived by her brothers, James Poole and Ronnie Brown, and sister, Ruth Bennett, in addition to three children, Bret Beshears, Robyn Shelby, and Aaron Beshears and his wife Candice, Grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Megan, Travis, Anthony, Morghan and Taryn. She loved and admired her Great-Grandchildren, Hunter, Steven, Andrew, Marcus and Issac.
Joan was adored by her large family and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and loved ones. Funeral service will be a 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR. with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR.
