Virgil "Vic" Bectol, 97, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior January 16, 2012.
He was born January 31, 1914 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Charles and Margaret Bectol.

He worked at Norge in Quality Control, was the owner and operator of Fort Smith Barrel & Drum Company, Patricia's Hairstyling Salon, and Holiday Lanes Snack Bar. He was a member of Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, as well as an Elk member. He loved animals and his hobbies included raising ring necked doves, Chihuahuas, gardening, and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and five sisters, Lula Endsley, Ethel Riggs, Bonnie Riggs, Lorena Tancic, and Mildred Skaggs; as well as one brother, Richard Bectol.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Bectol of the home; two daughters, Patricia Brandt and her husband, David of Saint Louis, MO; Shirley Golofski and her husband, Martin of Fort Smith, AR; three step-daughters, Betty Hale and her husband, Jim of Greenwood, AR; Patricia Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK, and Joyce Dodson and her husband, Glenn of Erick, OK; one step-son, Don Mitchell and his wife, Margaret of Spiro, OK; one sister, Louise Allen of Saint Louis, MO ;two grandchildren, Clifford Casey III and his wife, Tina of Addieville, IL and Casey Golofski of Oklahoma City, OK; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Casey of Addieville, IL

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Helen Bectol, 92, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in a local hospital.
She was born September 20, 1926 in Lucas, AR to the late Lewis and Nancy Bobbitt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Mitchell, her second husband, Virgil Bectol and her six brothers.

She is survived by her daughters; Shirley Golofski and husband Marty of Fort Smith, Betty Hale of Greenwood, Patricia Mitchell of Fort Smith and Joyce Dodson and husband Glen of Erick, OK; step-daughter, Patricia Brandt and husband Dave of Addieville, IL; her son Donnie Mitchell and wife Margaret of Spiro, OK; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great -great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Edwards Funeral Home with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
