*When William Alexander Shook was born on July 9, 1848, in Tennessee, his father, Henry, was 20 and his mother, Gracie, was 15. He married Tennessee Treasa Wilkes and they had four children together. He then married Mieka R. V. McDougal and they had two children together. He died on April 5, 1925, in Pangburn, Arkansas, at the age of 76, and was buried there.

*When Mieka R. V. McDougal and her twin sister Rebecca A. were born on August 6, 1855, in Mississippi, their father, Alexander, was 48 and their mother, Rachel, was 42. She married Joeseph E. Johnson on November 16, 1871. She then married William Alexander Shook and they had two children together. She died on July 4, 1938, in Pangburn, Arkansas, at the age of 82, and was buried there.
