Alice Deane Banks, 79, of Springdale died Jan. 18, 2007, due to complications from leukemia at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born April 2, 1927, in the Oak Grove Community to Charlie B. and Minnie Belle Weathers.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springdale and the National T.T.T. Society. She was the co-owner of Banks Jewelry and the Palace Barber Shop in Springdale and co-owned A-1 Insulation in Lowell. She worked for Sam's Club for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.J. Banks in 1989; one grandchild, Wyndee Diane Haley; three brothers, Eddie Combs, Vernon Weathers and Sam Weathers.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Banks and wife Patsy of Springdale; two daughters, Jaylon Haley and husband Ron of Springdale and Chyrel Banks of Farmington; one brother, William Ralph Weathers of Gentry; one sister, Audrey Springston of Springdale; seven grandchildren, Ginger Howard, J.J. Banks, Arthur Banks, Chris Haley, Carrie Henry, John Taylor Haley and Emily Banks and eight great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Judy Van Hoose officiating. Burial will be in the Bluff Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.J. Banks, Arthur Banks, Chris Haley, John T. Haley, Gene Springston and Aaron Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Springston, Rodney Springston and Paul Springston.
The family will receive friends on from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
