Lee Wesson was the husband of Fannie Wesson. He was born on November 12, 1901. He died in Arkansas on February 24, 1982. He is buried at Washington Cemetry in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Sebastian County.

He was born in Highland, Arkansas to George and Betty Wesson on November 12, 1901 as one of fourteen childen. Lee attended public schools of Highland and took his vows of the church from Rev. Nelson at the Ebenezer Methodist Church. His first occupation was that of farming until he decided to move to Northwest Aarkansas. In 1924, Lee settled at Fort Smith, where other family members would soon follow. The children of George and Betty Wesson soon ventured to far parts of the country, but they would never let friend or foe forget that they were real brothers and sisters. Lee and one brother, Cleo, even worked together for over forty years as barbers at 4th & Garrison, and later at 10th & Garrison. He was a worker proud of his job until he became critically ill in 1971. Fannie Wesson became Lee's bride since Lee had come to Fort Smith from southern Arkansas, he had remembered and corresponded with Fannie, also of southern Arkansas, and in spite of the depression years, Lee's job was safe and Fannie married on May 5, 1936. She remained by his side sickness and in health until his death. They were a happy family with two daughtes, Rosalie and Verna. Rev. B.F. Neal had received Lee into the Mallalieu church and later his wife, brother, sister and children.

Survivors are his wife, Fannie; a daughter, Rosie Lee Ackiss of Philadelphia, PA; a brother, Cleo Wesson of
Fort Smith; three sisters, Minnie Barrou of Fort Smith and Mildred Watson and Themla Martin both of Los Angeles, CA; two grandsons, three great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and other relatives.

Fannie
March 24, 1903 - January 16, 1998

Fannie Wesson was the wife of the late Lee Wesson who preceded her in death. She was born on March 24, 1903. She died in Arkansas on January 16, 1998. She is buried at Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas Sebastian county next to her husband Lee.

The life of Fannie. Fannie Wesson was called on to eternal rest Friday, January 16, 1998. The second child of the late Isabell and Augustus Walker came to life in Ozan, Arkansas on March 24, 1903.

Preceding her in death were three brothers Jefferson, James and Lovell; two sisters Sarah Whatley and Raney Taylor. She married the late Lee Wesson on May 5. 1936. To this union there no children. She had two step-daughters that preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish in her memory; one brother Augustus Walker of St. Louis, MISSOURI; TWO SISTERS-IN-LAWS, FAY wALKER OF ST. LOUIS,MO, Walker and Georgia Walker of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Five nieces Velma Best, Ruth Buchner, Clytie Mae Woods of Detroit, Michigan, Sandra Ginger of St. Louis. A very dedicated niece Emma Watts of Forth Smith, Four nephews; Lonnie Watts of Fort Smith, Donald Ray Lawson of Crystal, Minnesota; James Edward Lawson of Wichita, Kansas and James Pigues of Los Angeles, California.
