January 1, 1946 - February 21, 2017
Freddie Allen Holmes, Sr., 71, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was the widow of Aletryce Holmes, a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, past employee of City of Fort Smith Street Department, and football and basketball coach for Fort Smith Boys Club.
He was born January 1, 1946 in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Funeral will be Saturday, March 4, 2017, 12:00noon at Evangel Temple with burial at Washington Cemetery under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be Marcus and Shannon Bagsby, Anthony Johnson, Gary Releford, Jamie Williams, Torrance Cummings, Kevin Robinson, and Herbert McGill, Jr.
He is survived by a daughter, Cetrevia Jordan of Fort Smith; five sons: Curtis Anderson of Detroit, MI, Freddie Jr. (Irene), Carnell (Octavia), Chris (Michelle), and Dajin (Alisha) Holmes all of Fort Smith; a brother, John Jordan (Carolyn) of Kansas City, MO; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Aletryce
August 14, 1944 - January 28, 2016
Aletryce Faye Holmes, 71, of Fort Smith, died Thursday, January 28th in a local hospital.
She was born August 14, 1944 in Russellville, Arkansas.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where she was an Usher and was retired plate packer at James River Dixie Cup.
Funeral will be Saturday, February 6th at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Washington Cemetery under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
She is survived by her husband, Freddie Sr.; a daughter, CeTrevia Jordan of Dallas,TX; four sons: Freddie Jr. (Irene), Carnell (Octavia), Chris (Michelle) and Dazin Holmes all of Fort Smith; two sisters: Cecilia James of Russellville and Marilyn Austin of Fort Smith; one brother Cecil Foster, Jr. of Russellville; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
