Betty Jane Hargis, 81, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, January 9, 2024. She was born July 5, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Graham F. and Elizabeth Shannon.
On September 29, 1961, Betty married Henry Price Hargis Jr. in Conway. Betty was a faithful member of Grace Methodist Church in Conway. Betty was a supportive military wife, raising 4 children while moving around the southern United States. Betty worked for the Conway Post Office as a dedicated rural mail carrier for over 25 years.
Betty loved reading, traveling and spending time with friends. She cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She touched many lives with her kindness and love.
Betty is survived by her husband, Henry Hargis; her brother, Jeff Shannon and wife, Carole of Fayetteville; her children, Terry Hargis Gazaui of Celina, Texas, Henry P. (Hank) Hargis of Hot Springs, Shannon Hargis of Conway, J. Graham Hargis and wife, Julia of Navarre, Florida ; 5 grandchildren, Kristen, Kendall, Price, Elizabeth and Liam; 3 great grandchildren, Reina, Aria and Asher; also survived by 2 nieces, Rebecca and Rachel; as well as 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
The family would like to thank the Conway Fire Dept., EMS paramedics, Conway Police Dept and the staff at Conway Regional Hospital Emergency Services for their quick response in our time of need.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11am at Grace Methodist Church located at 1075 Hogan Ln in Conway, Arkansas.
