Frank Gray Bibb, 84, of Batesville died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in a Little Rock hospital.

Born July 21, 1920, at Bethesda, he was the son of Edward and Cora Ann Nelson Bibb. He was a lifelong resident of Independence County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Rhineland, Ardennes, central Europe, Normandy and northern France. He was certified as a bugler and was awarded five Bronze Stars and a good conduct medal. He was a retired master carpenter and an elder of Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Batesville.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Hazel Ross Bibb; a daughter, Connie Edwards of Fox; a brother, Robert Bibb of Walnut Grove; a sister, Goldine Robbins of Waynesville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Leo R. Edwards, Frankie Edwards and Siobhan Edwards, all of Fox, and Dana Wilson of Timbo; four great-grandchildren, Anastasia Wilson, Mackenzie Wilson, Scottie Wilson and Samuel Wilson, all of Timbo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alton Bibb and Julian Bibb; and two sisters, Alma Bibb and Judith Daggett.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Wayne Wood and Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Alan Ross, Bryan Ross, Leo Edwards, Frankie Edwards, Scott Wilson and Austin Martin.

Honorary pallbearers are Fred Sifford, Ralph Fetzer, Vaughan Anderson, J.T. Thurman and Vern Phillips.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Hazel Bibb, 93, of Timbo passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Ash Flat. She was born January 20, 1930 in Batesville to James and Jewell Ross. She worked at the International Shoe Factory and was a member of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Hazel loved to work outside in her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed going to flea markets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Bibb; one brother, James ”Buddy” Ross and one sister, Mary Nadine Martin.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie Deaton (Elvis) of Timbo; one brother, Bennie Ross of Cave City; four grandchildren, Dana Wilson, Frankie Edwards, Leo Edwards and Siobhan Edwards; eight great grandchildren, Mackenzie Wilson, Anastasia Goff, Samuel Wilson, Scotty Wilson, Able Edwards, River Edwards, Julian Edwards and Jackson Edwards; one great-great grandchild, Mia Green.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. There will be a private burial at a later date in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
