Jessie Euper Stephens, 81, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, in Fort Smith.
She was a graduate of Westark Community College and the University of Arkansas. She retired as a medical secretary for the ophthalmology clinic where she worked for many years. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She was the widow of William Carl Stephens.
Funeral was Saturday at the First Lutheran Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Janelle Schaefer of Bartlett, Tenn.; one son, Philip C. Stephens of the home; three sisters, Mary Nell Euper and Dorothy P. Kelly, both of Fort Smith and Lenora Struebing of Springdale; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Paul Schaefer, both of Bartlett, Tenn.
Pallbearers were Richard, Larry and Thomas J. Barr, David Dick, the Rev. Mark Burger and Don Struebing Jr
