Mary Julia Stevenson, 54, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1948, in Brattleboro, Vt. She moved to Fort Smith at the age of 13. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2001. She was a member of the American Postal Workers Union Local No. 1211. She was a past member of Faith Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school and was active in Women's Ministries and now is a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert O. Johnson Sr. of Fort Smith. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Gale Dean Rainwater of Fort Smith; three brothers, Robert O. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Delia of Jacksonville, Stanley Johnson and his wife, Karen of Rogers and Russell Johnson and his wife, Aida of Schertz, Texas; two granddaughters, Julia and Victoria Rainwater, both of Fort Smith; three nieces, Michelle Gibson, Emily Edmondson and Lisa Terry.
Pallbearers will be Doyle, Paul, Eric and Lance Rainwater, Doug Huber and Chris Lamberson.
