Peggy Sue Stewart, 84, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Nov. 25, 1932, to Ival and Mildred Ann (Haggard) McGee.
She spent most of her childhood in Newton, Kan., before moving to Fort Smith. Peggy enjoyed a career in retail and direct sales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Stewart; and a son, Steven Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial of cremains Stewart at Roselawn Cemetery will be private.
She is survived by her son, Mike Stewart and his wife Ginny of Aledo, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary Le Coumpte of Lake Placid, Fla.; three grandchildren, Matthew Stewart and his wife Andrea of Richardson, Texas, Amber Wallace and her husband Jonathan of Bryant and Julie Stegall and her husband Cliff of Saginaw, Texas; and six great grandchildren, Luke, Halle and Haven Stewart all of Richardson, Cyrus and Joanna Stegall of Saginaw and Ellie Wallace of Bryant.
