Husband of Peggy Sue McGee Stewart
Rex Byron Stewart, 79, of Fort Smith, AR passed away Thursday September 28, 2011 in a local hospital.
He was a law enforcement officer and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Stewart.
Memorial graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one son, Mike Stewart and his wife Ginny of Aledo, Texas; one sister, Mary LeCoumpte of Lake Placid, New York; three grandchildren, Matthew Stewart and his wife Andrea of Garland, TX, Amber Wallace and her husband Jonathan of Fort Worth, TX, Julie Stegall and her husband Cliff of Fort worth, TX; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Halle Stewart both of Garland, TX.
