Krystal Dawn Buford Worthington

Mrs. Krystal (Buford) Worthington of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life in Searcy on Monday, May 21, 2018, at the age of 34. She was born November 2, 1983 in Newport, the daughter of George Richard “Ricky” and Kathy (Honey) Buford.
Krystal was a 2002 graduate of Newport High School. She was very active during junior high and high school, being both a Greypup and Greyhound Cheerleader. Krystal earned All-American Cheerleader during her Junior and Senior years, and served the team as Co-Captain her Senior year. She also excelled in Softball, earning All Conference during her Sophomore and Junior years. Krystal was also active in many high school clubs including the Bible Club, Key Club, Science Club, and French Club, just to name a few activities.
She also had a great love and talent for gymnastics. Krystal began competing on a State level at the age of 8 and actively competed until age 11.
Her greatest love was her family, especially her children. Krystal loved following her children’s activities. She was their biggest fan, not only coaching them in cheer and basketball, but attending each and every game.
Krystal enjoyed restoring antiques, and repurposing furniture. She had the ability to take something old and make it beautiful again. Most importantly, she loved her time at the beach with her family, and listening to Jax tell stories about catching fish.
Krystal was a homemaker, who had previously worked in the Jackson County Tax Assessor’s Offices many years. She was a member of the Remmel Church of Christ.
Krystal’s sweet, bright spirit and her infectious smile will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She will be missed so very much by so many, but none, more than her precious family.
Krystal was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Buford on October 30, 2017.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Worthington of Remmel; one son, Jax Worthington of Remmel; three daughters, Macayle Pearce and Haylie Worthington, both of Remmel, and Averee Gilleylen of Campbell Station; her mother, Kathy (Honey) Buford of Newport; two brothers, Sean Buford and wife, Tonya, of Remmel, and Sonny Buford and wife, Jamie, of Remmel; a special uncle, Dale Stokes of Remmel; her father-in-law, Gary Worthington; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, May 24, 2018, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Remmel Church of Christ, with interment following in Remmel-McCall Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Rickey Morales, Josh Stokes, Ron Mergy, Marc Keton, Jeremy Stokes, and Scott Preston. Honorary Pallbearers are Kathryn (Hodo) Hopkins, Sandy Honey, and Amanda Hefner Anders.
