Alta Joyce Huckabee Mross, age 85 of Hope, Arkansas, went to be with God on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She's born on October 1, 1938, to Virgil Huckabee and Ernie Betts Huckabee at Josephine Hospital in Hope, Arkansas. She graduated from Hope High School in 1956 and then attended Texarkana College. She moved to Little Rock where she met her husband Therion and they were married on December 14, 1961. He was in the army and while stationed in Illinois she gave birth to her daughter Sharon in 1963 and while stationed in Germany she gave birth to her son Steven in 1965. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a longtime member of Hope First Assembly of God.
She retired from Pinehope Nursing Home after 20 years as a CNA. She loved working with the girls in Missionettes at her church and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother Dorsey "Buddy" Huckabee, her husband Therion Edward Mross, her good friend Faye Deen Ellis and many beloved in-laws.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Renee Mross of Hope, AR, her son Steven Edward Mross of Hot Springs, AR, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hope First Assembly of God P.O. Box 664 Hope, Arkansas 71802.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2:00pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bro. Chris Bradley officiating.
