George E. Ray, 91, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Fort Smith. He was a retired engineer for Rheem Manufacturing, a member of the First United Methodist where he served as the Fellowship Sunday school teacher since 1971; he maintained the chimes for 15 years and operated the church's sound system for five years. He was a past member of the board and the building grounds committee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during World War II. He was an active member of the Lions Club and a life member of the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioner engineers.
