Charles Lynn, 80, of Van Buren died Friday, January 28, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a retired auto trimmer for Briggs Indiana Corporation Division of Chrysler, Evansville, Indiana, an upholsterer of Harmans Draperies, Interiors & Upholstery of Champaign, Illinois, and a former employee of Fort Smith Chair Company and Kay Chair Company. He also was a member of Central Christian Church of Fort Smith.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. January 31, 1994, in Lewis Funeral Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta "Bertie" (Calhoun) Lynn; a sister, Eva McAden of Fort Smith; a brother, Will of Fort Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert and Michael Crawford, Steve Scott, Mark Nichols, Jimmy Hall and Rusty Miller.

The family will visit with friends 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. (End of obit).

Honorary Pallbearers included, Virgil Templeton, Bill Davis, Joe Green, Ray Brisco, Boyd Fry and Geroge Ransom.

Officiating the service was Phillip Sams.

Charles Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee and Elizabeth (Watkins) Lynn.

Charles marred Miss Alberta "Bertie" Calhoun on April 12, 1941, in St. Charles County, St. Charles, Missouri. His bride of fifty-two years survives.

Other survivors include his brothers-in-law, Dr. James P. Calhoun and T.W. "Jack" McAden.

Alberta H. Lynn, 93, of Fort Smith, entered into rest on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Fort Smith. She was born May 17, 1919, in Mattoon, Illinois the daughter of the late William and Grace Calhoun.

Alberta was a homemarker, a member of Crossview Christian Church, a graduate of Summers School of Beauty Culture in Danville, Illinois, former employee of NEU Art Beauty Studio in Evansville, Indiana, clerk and receptionist for Handy Furniture Company, former employee of McKinley YMCA in Champagne, Illinois, Hermans Drapery and Interior, clerk for S&H Green Stamp Company in Champagne, Illinois, and saleslady in the Cosmetic Department at Hunts Department Store.

She was the widow of the late Charles Lynn to whom she married April 12, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri.

Survivors include nieces, Kathy Sabella of Evansville, Indiana, Cindy Calhoun McQuay of Neosho, Missouri, nephew, James Presley Calhoun Jr., of Minola, Florida, two great- nieces, two great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Crossview Christian Church in Fort Smith, with interment at Roselawn Cemetery, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Jerry and Rob Crawford, Steve Scott, Brad Wheeler, Eli Hartley and Mike Crawford.
