Funeral services for Amos Lee McKinnie, 60, a retired mechanic of 608 N. College Ave., who died Monday afternoon at his home following a lengthy illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. Marion Miller and the Rev. C. Ray Hozendorf officiating. Burial will be in Faustine Cemetery near Hampton. Born at Hampton July 7, 1904, he was the son of James Henry and Mary Ada Porter McKinnie. He had lived in El Dorado for 24 years and was a former employe of Reed's Wrecking Yard, George Morgan Motors, and Brown Motor Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Etta Dunn McKinnie of El Dorado; two sons, Elvin Rudolph McKinnie of Dallas, Tex., and Amos Lee McKinnie of El Dorado; four daughters, Mrs. Robert M. Hayes and Mrs. Frank Rayhger, both of El Dorado, Mrs. Richard L. Gunn of Alexandria, Va., and Miss Margaret McKinnie of El Dorado; four brothers, Charlie McKinnie, of Clayton, La., E. T. McKinnie and William McKinnie, both of DeKalb, Tex., and Allen McKinnie of Hampton; and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Dunn of El Dorado. Active pallbearers will be Louis Reed, George Rea, Bill Brown, Doug Futrell, J. C. McKinnie, and J. D. Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Vantrease Methodist Church. (The El Dorado Times - September 8, 1964)
