Lovett, Jack C., age 96, of Ballwin, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away, Monday, January 14, 2019.
He was born in Peno, Oklahoma, a son of the late Bart and Eula (nee Elkins) Lovett.

Jack retired after 46 years of service as International Vice President for the Communication Workers of America (AFL-CIO), and also retired in 1983, with almost 40 years of service, as a Lt. Colonel with the Arkansas Air National Guard. He was a Reserve Air Force Officer, serving in WWII and the Korean conflict.
He was a Methodist, member of Sebastian Lodge 706, Western Arkansas Consistory in Fort Smith, a Shriner and a member of the Moolah Temple in St. Louis. A Life member of the National Guard and the Retired Officers Association.

Jack was the beloved husband of Sarah Jimmie (nee Waters) Lovett, who preceded him in death November 16, 2009; the dear father of J. Bart (Elizabeth) Lovett and the late Leslie Steven Lovett; loving grandfather to Jack Colin (Brett Murray) Lovett, James Elkins (Angela) Lovett, Samantha Elizabeth Lovett and Sarah Marie Lovett; and great-grandfather of Owen Elkins Lovett and Ivy Lynn Hope Sanning.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Gladys, Lucille, Hazel, Bea, and a brother Elkins.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, January 18, 2019 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Roselawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday January 17, 2019 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Sarah Jimmie Lee Waters Lovett, 85, departed this world from Ballwin, Missouri on Monday, November 16th, 2009.

Jimmie Lee was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith and she was of the Methodist Faith. She was active for many years in Volunteer and Community Service organizations and participated as a Scout Leader in Echols School in Fort Smith for many years. She was an active member of the Garden Club, and one of her most enjoyable services was serving as a Volunteer for the underprivileged 4th and 5th grade children in the inner city schools in Kansas City.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack C. Lovett; children, J. Bart and Liz Lovett, Jackie Lovett and Sandy, and Dean Daugherty all of St. Louis, MO. She was a devoted grandmother to Sarah Lovett, Jack Colin Lovett, Amanda Lovett, James Elkins Lovett, Samantha Elizabeth Le Yun Lovett, Sarah Marie Lovett and Anna Lilan Ruth Daugherty. She was a beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother to Janice Sue and Leslie Lovett, both who preceded her in death.


Graveside service was Friday, November 20, 2009 at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
