Vilas "Val" W. Taylor, 95, of Magnolia, AR passed away September 2, 2016 at the Magnolia Heath and Rehab Center in Magnolia, AR.

Val was born on May 2, 1921 in Bass, AR to the late John Fletcher and Hattie (Hamm) Taylor. He was a member of the College View Baptist Church, served in the Civil Conservation Corps, and managed the Gordenker Turkey Ranch in Sonoma, CA.

Val is preceded in death by his parents; wife Frances (Carlton) Taylor; daughter Geneva Taylor Mills; brother John Fletcher Taylor, JR; and sisters, Floy Taylor Mullins, Eunice Margaret Callaway, and Leta Mae Hanks

He is survived by his daughter Vonda Dees and husband James of Magnolia, AR; brothers, James Taylor and wife Lea of Hope, AR, Troy Taylor of Balch Springs, TX, Jimmy Ray Taylor and wife Terry of Canton, TX, Jesse Taylor and wife Trinie of Grand Prairie, TX, and Robert Taylor and wife Debbie of Grand Saline, TX; sisters, Amy Barton of Sonoma, CA, and Leona Walker and husband Tommy of Tecumseth, OK; grandsons, Michael Dees and wife Sandy of Mineral Springs, AR, Randy Dees and wife Monica of Magnolia, AR, and Tommy Mills of Hayward, CA; granddaughter Valerie Ann Mills of Hayward, CA; great grandsons, Steve Dees of Mineral Springs, AR, Brayden Dees of Magnolia, AR, and Jesse Dees of Magnolia, AR; great granddaughters, Jessica Dees Whittenburg of Sherwood, AR and Taylor Elizabeth Dees Wafford of Mt.Vernon, TX; and great-great grandchildren McKinleigh Jane, Grant, Emily, and Hunter.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Antioch East Cemetery with Bro. Aaron Middleton officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
