February 24, 1893 - March 20, 1966
Mrs. Rachel Perry Corbit, age 73, of Strong, died Sunday morning in a local hospital. Mrs. Corbit was born in Strong, the daughter of John S. and Mary Canady Dopson. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church since 1932. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. J. S. Perry of Emerson, and William R. Perry of Strong; two stepsons, Jim and Ben Perry both of Crossett; three brothers, Marion, Lee, and Andrew Dopson, all of Strong; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Strong at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. C. J. Forest of Shreveport officiating, assisted by the Rev. Raymond Rowland. Burial will follow in the Strong Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Hill, Albert Vestal, Albert Bender, Alford Bender, Billy Bishop, and Rhuben Gammel. Mr. E. F. Reeves will serve as honorary pallbearer. Services are under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the home in Strong at 6 p.m. Monday. (El Dorado Times - March 21, 1966)
