Merry Alice Butterfield, a long-time resident of Parkers Chapel, died August, 13, 2016 at the age of 73
from a prolonged illness. She was born Merry Alice Millican on June 22nd, 1943 in Buckner, Arkansas.

She graduated Parkers Chapel High School in 1961. She was a life-long member of Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church. Her parents Millard and Evelyn Tucker Millican who previously preceded her to heaven were also residents of Parkers Chapel.

Merry is survived by her loving family including her husband of 48 years, Curtis; son Jimmie of El Dorado his son Joshua who went to be with the Lord at birth; son Matthew, wife Andrea and grandson Ethan, of Prosper, Texas. Since Ethan’s birth in January of 2015, he was the light of her life and the reason she woke up each morning.

She is also survived by her siblings: Jerrell Millican and his wife Jeanette who is already gone to be with the Lord; Edward Millican who is also already in Heaven, Carole Woolsey and husband Bruce; Charlotte Millican; Jane Duggar and husband Charlie; Joan Kingrey and husband Jack all residing in El Dorado and David Millican and wife Pam of McKinney, Texas. Her Sister-in-Law, Janice Brewer and her husband Jerry of Junction City. Not to mention her many nieces and nephews all of which she loved dearly.

The service will be held at Young’s Funeral Home on August 15th at 10:00 AM. It will be officiated by Pastor Tracy Roden assisted by John Butterfield. Visitation will be held at Young’s Funeral Home on August, 14th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

The pall bearers will be Jim Andre, Wayne Warr, Bruce Wayne Woolsey, Craig Calvery, Jeff Powers and Craig Jones. Honorary pall bearers will be Wayne Rainwater, David Thomas and all other deputy coroners.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you please make a donation to Life Touch Hospice. This will allow more people in need to be able to experience the love and caring that the facility provides. In our families’ opinion, this is one of the finest facilities in the nation.
