John A. Griffin, 84, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was born February 11, 1921, in Hackett to Letha Stephens and Henry Griffin. He graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1938. From 1941 until retirement he worked for Budget Tire & Supply Co., and was a partner in G & S Oil Company and Griffin Srygley & Smith Contractors.

He was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Amrita Grotto, Quachita Anglers and Arkansas Oil Marketers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marvin Rupe, Henry Griffin Jr, and Jack Griffin, and his sister, Dorothy Helen Alexander.

Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Goddard United Methodist Church with interment at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; one daughter and her husband Rick; one son and his wife; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Betty J. Griffin, 90, of Fort Smith, passed from this life July 16, 2015 in Fort Smith.
She was born in Greenwood, Arkansas to the late Jake and Maude Bell Hannah.

Betty and her late husband, John A. Griffin, were part owners of Budget Tire & Supply. She was an adoring wife, loving mother, and gracious grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid fisher and University of Arkansas football fan. Betty was a lifetime member of Goddard United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Wanda Srygley; son-in-law, Rick Foti, widower of daughter Sondra, and their daughters, Hannah Foti and Alex Foti and her daughter Jasmine; daughter-in-law Barbara Griffin, widow of son Stephen, and his sons Jonathan Griffin and his wife Jackie and their daughter Madison, James Hoffman and his wife Tina, their children Parker, JT and Hannah; and their mother Katie Neal; as well as Barbara's children, Hannah Freeman, Clay Freeman and Grayce and her husband Dr. Michael Coleman, their children Adelaide and Amelia.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Goddard United Methodist Church with burial to at Roselawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
