Karen Wynn Woolbright Gheen, 50, of Springdale, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, in Little Rock. Her life revolved around her family and her family around her. Karen loved music and playing her piano. She was, at one time, the organist at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She began her insurance career in 1974, and is licensed resident agent in Arkansas, and holds the designations of certified insurance counselor. During her career, Karen taught insurance courses for the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas. She also worked as a sales agent for the Cashion Company Inc. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Marj Woolbright; and brother, Hal Woolbright. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Tom Gheen of Springdale; two daughters, Cori and her husband, James Maner of Fort Smith and Nicki Gheen of Springdale; two sons, Eric and his wife, Lindsey of Greenland and Tommy Gheen of Springdale; two brothers, Rich Wayland of Nashville, Tenn., and Bill Woolbright of Vian. Pallbearers will be Jordan Woolbright, Ryan Woolbright, Benson Cashion, Jerry Stumbaugh, Chris Bannister, Austin Ervin, Craig Daws and Mike Lanier.
