Dorothy N. "Dot" Gilchrist, 93, of Fort Smith, died April 5, 2014 in Fort Smith.
She was born July 28, 1920 in Fort Smith to William Dexter and Emma Adele Young Graves.

She lived her entire life in Fort Smith and was a graduate of Fort Smith High School class of 1938. She studied at Hendrix College for two years where she and her future husband Buddy Gilchrist were voted the Cutest Couple. She was a homemaker and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, Mi Mi to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and by her many friend.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy and her husband Don Ruth of Temple, Texas; one son, Thomas "Tommy" Gilchrist of Fort Smith; one sister, Adele Jackson of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis, Rolfe Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds, Allison Mankin, Travis Ruth, Andrew Gilchrist, and Emily Howell; nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Thomas "Buddy" Gilchrist; daughter, Anne Reynolds Winslow; and sister, Annabelle Mahoney.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Roebuck Chapel of First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Gilchrist, Jeremy Howell, Ryan Reynolds, and Dennis Lewis.
