PEORIA -- Clarence A. Ewing, 79, of Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of Peoria, died Friday, April 22, 1994, in Fort Smith. Born July 9, 1914, in Pekin to Fred L. and Fannie Eertmoed Ewing, he married Dorothy Eken in 1938. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara Gipson of Fort Smith; three sons, David, Randall and Christian, all of Peoria; one sister, Fern Laley of Pekin; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith and a former member of First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith is in charge of arrangements. PEORIA - Dorothy R. Ewing, 78, of Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of Peoria, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at her residence. Born Aug. 4, 1919, in Peoria to Henry and Ida Kohl Eken, she married Clarence Ewing in 1938. He died April 22, 1994. Surviving are three sons, David, Christian and Randall, all of Peoria; one daughter, Barbara Gipson of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Smith. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. Memorials may be made to her church organ fund, 2100 Cavanaugh Road, Fort Smith, Ark. 72903. Journal Star (Peoria, IL) - May 25, 1998
