October 18, 1934 - January 13, 2019

Jessie Mae (Frisby) Dwyer, age 84, died peacefully, Sunday, January 13, 2019 after her health had been failing for several years.

She was born in Urbana, AR to the parents of Jesse and Easter Lilly Cremeen Frisby. She raised her family in Hot Springs, AR and worked in banking for several years and was a caregiver for many and she loved her patients. As her health begun to fail, her daughter, Jenny brought her to Jackson, TN so she could receive the personal care that only a daughter could provide.

Jessie was a strong compassionate lady and was always willing to help those in need from family to friends. She had a love that was funny, ferocious, and loyal which brought many of life’s lessons learned both tender and tough, and it made her a carrier of faith, hope, and wisdom. She was our constant strength and if there was one quality that best defines Momma, it was her wisdom. A wisdom rooted in her fierce liberalism and informed intelligence. She was not formal or reserved, it was somewhat old-fashioned, perhaps, but a true reflection of Mother’s dignity and the respect in which we held her. She was our constant strength and is an irreplaceable loss to all of us, but we know she is now pain-free and we have to say “goodbye”.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, roses and orchid flowers, watching hummingbirds, eating seafood, her favorite, but most was her love for her family.

She is survived by four sons, Dennis Dwyer of Hot Springs, AR; David and Linda Dwyer of Stevenson Ranch, CA; Andy Dwyer of Ozark, AR; and Andrew and Christina Dwyer of Hot Springs, AR; two daughters, Susie and Curt Tanner of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and Jenny and Joseph Lane of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Mike and Nancy Frisby of Ennis, TX and Tommy and Sue Frisby of Ft. Smith, AR; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank Ascera Hospice Care for their utmost, compassionate, caregiving of Jessie under their care in helping our family. We are thankful for the life of Jessie, and we are grateful for the soul God called to heaven.

A Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 with family receiving friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service following at 6:00 P.M. at Arrington Funeral Directors with Bro. Calvin Mercer Officiating. Her ashes will be buried next to her parents in Urbana, AR at a later date.
