Jim D. DeJarnatt, 87, of Fort Smith died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the Army and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from the city of Fort Smith where he worked as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Grand Ave. Baptist Church, the Grand Ave Jolly Travelers Club, the Greengrove Masonic Lodge No. 7 in Conway, a 32nd-degree Mason, member of Amrita Grotto and had received his 50-year pin with the Masons.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Putman Funeral Home Chapel with a Masonic graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one son, James K. DeJarnatt of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jess Huff, Vernon Joiner, Manford Barnard, Dicky and Gary DeJarnatt and George Barham.
