Robert W. Hargett age 87 of El Dorado passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. Robert was born on July 13, 1928 in Union County, AR to the late Nora Garner Hargett and Albert Hargett.
Robert was an Arkansas Entergy Retiree, serving 58 years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church where he played the piano. He was a US Army veteran and was a master carpenter.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Joyce Dunbar Hargett.
Survivors include; one son, Stephen Hargett of El Dorado; one sister, Dorothy Norris and husband Joe; one half brother, Stanley Hargett and one half sister, Linda Swart.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Green Grove Cemetery near Strong with Rev. Roy C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
