Thelma L. Cousins of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, in Fort Smith.

She was a retired secretary-treasurer for Kay Chair Co., a former school teacher, a founding member of the Fort Smith Art Center, a member of the Fort Smith Garden Club, past president of the Children's Service League and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Ray C. Cousins.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Monday in the Roebuck Chapel of First United Methodist Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

She is survived by three sons, Duane of Van Buren, Fred of Fort Smith and Jerry of Rogers; three sisters, Dorothy Snearly of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Lois Carleton of Amarillo, Texas, and Doris Eike of Radcliff, Iowa; one brother, Harold Dillon of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David, Craig, Mike, Kevin, Christopher and Aaron Cousins.

Honorary pallbearers were the Aldergate Sunday School Class.
