Zelda N. Carson, 83, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in Fort Smith. She was a retired employee of Hutchison Shoes and Walmart Inc. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, the Jolly Travelers and the Pace Setters of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mackie Stanfill of Troy, Ohio; one sister, Neda Moore of Farmington; one brother, Virgil Heckathorn of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Cindy Skaggs and Randy Stanfill; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, W.O. Garrett and Ray Carson, and five brothers, Leo, Claude, Gilford, Jack and Bob Heckathorn.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at 2 p.m. in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Newcomb, Ezekiel Newcomb, Chris Skaggs, Russell Skaggs, Allen Pullen, Bryan McAllister, Phil Stanfill and Robert Caleb Hurston.
