Ralph D. Caperton, Sr., 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in a local nursing home.
He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Sam and Anna Belle (Martindale) Caperton.

He was a pressman for 48 years with Weldon Williams and Lick, a member of the Woodsman of the World and of member, since 1951, of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Betty Caperton.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph D. Caperton, Jr. and his wife Judy of San Marcos, Texas and Terry L. Caperton and his wife Diana of Van Buren, Arkansas and two granddaughters, Nancy J. Caperton of San Marcos, Texas and Janet Caperton of Van Buren, Arkansas.

Betty Jane Caperton, 84, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in a local hospital.

She was a retired Plant Assigner for S.W. Bell Telephone. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith and a former member of the Bible Study Fellowship.

Funeral Service is 1:00PM Friday, October 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.

She is survived by her husband Ralph of the home; two sons, Ralph D. Caperton, Jr. and his Judy of San Marcus, TX and Terry L. Caperton and his wife Diana of Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister Peggy Ann Walters of Fort Smith, AR and two grandchildren, Nancy Caperton of San Marcus, TX and Janet Caperton of Van Buren, AR.
