*Obituary

Lucile Caldwell, 85, of Fort Smith passed from this life May 26, 2015, in Van Buren.
She was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Muskogee, Okla., to the late Willie and Etta Nicely Kennedy.

Lucile worked managing and maintaining rental properties until she was in her 80s.

She was an accomplished, award winning artist, working with oil and water paints, as well as stained glass. She started dancing in her 50s and would often go dancing on Saturday nights. Lucile was a free spirit and was always ready to get up and go and do … and she did. She traveled the world, went to dances and enjoyed being with people. Her favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine,” which she often sang to her daughter and grandchildren.

Lucile, we will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy and her husband Rick; her brothers, Richard and his wife Sue, Jimmy and his wife Linda and Bobby; her sisters, Polly and her husband Jack and Peggy and her husband Kenneth; two sisters-inlaw, Oleta and Linda; her granddaughter, Courtney and her husband Kevin; and her grandson, Cody.

Lucile was also preceded in death by a son, Danny; two brothers, Tony and Wayne; and her sister, Beverly.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Cemetery.
