Allene Marie Brown, 87, passed away January 22, 2009 in Fort Smith. She had worked as a switchboard operator at the Pentagon, and also for Southwestern Bell where she was a member of the Pioneer Club. Allene was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, the Junior Civic League, R.S.V.P., the Frontier Club, and Sparks Guild.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Kay Richard of Louisville, KY and Jill Lemley of Fort Smith, 1 son; Kent and his wife Kim Brown of Fort Smith, and 1 brother; Bill Russell of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Heather Hon of Louisville, KY, Kyle Richard of Louisville, KY, Kristin and Chase Lemley, both of Fort Smith, Evan Brown of Sherman, TX, and Taylor Vann of Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. Brown.
Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 26, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Tassone, John Barker, Kyle Richard, Chase Lemley, Evan Brown, and Taylor Vann.
